Nouvelle ROM 1.12 S100 FR

Une nouvelle version de ROM pour le s100 est actuellement distribuée par Imate. il s'agit d'une version 1.12

Les modifications apportées sont minimes (suppression echo et meilleure sensibilité réseau)
Après un soft reset, la machine redemare plus vite

je l'ai pompée mais j'ai erreur ID pays....avec un S100 original.

Oui, toujours la meme idée faire la mise à jour avec l'outil MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe. On en parle dans les topic MAJ 1.06 et 1.11

Ok mais je ne trouve pas le topic de la maj 1.06.....1.11 bien .

J'ai trouvé le MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe sur XDA-dev, je vais essayer de trouver comment ca fonctionne.

quand il te dis erreur id tu ferme le soft tu touche a rien et tu relence meme avec le noid ça le fais

Je l'ai fait avec MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe et ca marche impec....

Là je suis occupé a faire la bonne vieille manoeuvre de "virage" d'extended Rom pour avoir 27mb de storage au lieu de 7 d'origine (87mb au total ).....

Je laisserai un comment sur la stabilité de la rom d'ici quelques heures.

j'ai depuis 2 jours elle est super stable et le rest vas super vitte a rebooter perso je dis c'est du tout bon pour le moment

Par contre le virage d'extended rom ne fonctionne pas avec....quelqu'un a une idée pour revenir en arrière car là j'ai un bel écran blanc avec les n° R-G et D notés.....

Ca ne va pas plus loin....

Tu ne peux pas simplement reflasher ta rom 1.11 patchée ? ( avec MaUpgrade.exe )

Le stress c'est qu'avec l'écran blanc il ne prenait pas l'active sync....

Donc j'ai repris ma .nb1 que j'avais conservée....j'ai refait la manoeuvre a mon aise et je l'ai renomée et en init j'ai tapé c:\ ntrw write mksBigStorage.nb1 + ..... et hop....ca tourne.

Mais j'ai eu les boules sur ce coup là.

Tant que tu as accès à la séquence de flash il n'y a pas de soucis ( camera, power et reset ).

Vu que j'adore jouer j'ai retenté le coup et ca a marché nickel....et voilà le résultat...mon Kioutek tout 1.12 et avec plein d'espace....







Là il tourne impec et ca gaze....

DDDLV peux-tu expliquer la marche a suivre pour avoir pleins de place dans storage? C'est juste la non installation de l'ext rom ou autre chose?

Upgrade to Big Storage

Thanks to all who contributed to this, especially Anansky, MKS and Waldi!

This instruction explains how to
A. extend the flash memory of your own rom
B. use a downlaoded ROM image from someone else on your own smartphone

Needed:
MKS Big Storager: ftp://xda:xda@ftp.xda-developers.com/Uploads/Magician/mksBigStorager.rar
(Alternatively: already patched ROM Image, like "ger1.01_big_rom.nb1" or "Big_ROM_Ger_1.11.rar")
ntrw.exe and romupdate.exe: ftp://xda:xda@ftp.xda-developers.com/Magician/Backup_tools/
Hexeditor (depends on selection in step 4)
SD-card (preferrably 128 MB)
PC CardReader

This guideline applies to all Magician-like devices, such as:
MDA compact
XDA II mini
VPA compact
QTEK S100
...

--------------------------------------

1. Active Sync to preserve all Data (contacts, calendar, etc.)


2. Copy folder "Extended_Rom" from Smartphone to your PC, as this folder will be lost after the update (which of course you know, as this is the whole reason for doing this). The xda-developers ftp also holds most Extended Roms for later download.


3. Create a Backup of your ROM:
- Deactivate "USB Connection" in ActiveSync
- Start Magician in Boot-Loader mode by pressing Camera-button + Power button + Softreset
- connect Magician with PC via USB cable
- insert SD-card into Magician. As the image will be exactly as big as the capacity of the SD-card I recommend a 128 MB card, 64 have turned out to be too small, anything else would only blow up the filesize
- run ROMUPDATE.EXE and select the USB connection. Press OK
- enter d2s in the terminal window. Hit return
- the Magician screen will count up to 100% (without backlight) and calculates a checksum
- eject SD card from Magician and put it into the PC CardReader. If Windows asks to format click NO!
- copy ntrw.exe to C:\, open command promt (Start-Run: "cmd"), goto C:\ and enter:
ntrw read rom.nb1 x: (x is the SD-card-readers drive letter)
- this will create a file rom.nb1 on your C drive
- ignore ntrw's error message
- copy this file somewhere safe!


4. Modify ROM
Option A: You want to enable Big Storage for your own ROM
Option B: You want to use an image from someone else (i.e. "Big_ROM_Ger_1.11.rar") on your own Magician

A:
- Install the Visual BASIC 6 runTime: Execute "RunTimeVB6.exe" from "MKSBigStorager.rar". If you have already installed VB6 on your PC, you can skip this step
- copy "rom.nb1" to the folder where you extracted "mksBigStorager 1.0"
- Execute "mksBigStoragerENG.exe".
- move the file "rom.nb1" to C:\ and rename it to "myROM_big.nb1"

B:
- Open "rom.nb1" and the downloaded image (i.e. "Big_ROM_Ger_1.11.rar") in a HEX editor (I used UltraEdit-32)
- go to position 0 and copy the first 416 bytes of "rom.nb1"
- select the first 416 bytes of the downlaoded image and paste (this will overwrite the first 416 bytes of the downloaded image with those of your own ROM). This step is NECASSERY, because each smartphone has unique data in this section which must not be changed
- save the altered, downloaded image as "myROM_big.nb1" on C:\


5. Flash modified ROM to Magician
- once again open command promt, goto C:\ and enter:
ntrw write myROM_big.nb1 x: (x is the SD-card-readers drive letter)
- put SD-card back into Magician, reboot to Boot-Loader mode by pressing Camera-button + Power button + Softreset
- after a short time the screen will show: "Press Power to flash"
- Do that (press the power button)
- Wait until status is 100% and checksum has been calculated (ignore possible error message)
- Softreset


6. Reinstall necessary Extended Rom software
There is certain software you should install from the extended Rom, which depends on the version you are using (I will list which files are necessary for a german 1.11 ROM):

- CAB-ArcsoftMMS-2.0.0.22-Magician-Generic-DEU-14Mar05.CAB (enables MMS in pocket Outlook)
- Version_GER.sa.CAB (enters the Extended ROM version into system info -> not necessary)
- BTHUSB_PATCH_AKU26.CAB (not sure what exactly this fixes, but sounds important
- PhonePad_Magician_Generic_GER_RC12.CAB (T9-style for entering text)
- SmartDialing_Magician_Generic_GER_RC13.CAB (like IntelliDialer)
- JMM101257_ger_1004.CAB (Jave engine)

In general you should always install th extended-rom-software that fits your firmware, i.e. for 1.11 use the vodaphone extended rom files, for 1.06 those from the o2-image...

If you want to use O2 with the 1.11 vodaphone-ROM you also need:
- home_zone.ARM.CAB
- o2mmssettings.reg
