Nokia 6020 camera phone: A subtle way to stay in touch
November 02, 2004
At the annual Nokia Mobility Conference in Monaco and the Destination Nokia event held in Bangkok, Thailand, Nokia today broadened its mid-range portfolio with the introduction of the new Nokia 6020 camera phone. With a subtle and practical design, the Nokia 6020 features a broad set of contemporary technologies for personal and business demands. The tri-band Nokia 6020 will be available in two versions: an EGSM 900 GSM 1800/1900 primarily targeted for European and Asian markets, and the GSM 850/ 1800/1900 version for the Americas. Shipments of the Nokia 6020 are expected to start in the first quarter of 2005. The unsubsidized retail price excluding taxes is estimated to be around ¤200.
"The Nokia 6020 is a compelling new addition to Nokia's strong portfolio of mid-range, business-focused mobile phones," says Aage Snorgaard, Vice President, Mobile Phones, Nokia. "The robust feature set of the Nokia 6020 is nicely complemented by a subtle, classical design, offering consumers an affordable, reliable business tool for any occasion."
Staying in touch is easy with the Nokia 6020. Consumers can notify colleagues of important news by sending a flash-message that directly appears on the display of the other person's phone, or surprise friends with an animated MMS. With the VGA camera, users can capture special moments with images and video clips or connect to their colleagues using push to talk technology. Consumers can synchronize the calendar and contacts to be reminded of birthdays, anniversaries and important appointments. Presence-enhanced contacts informs friends and colleagues about availability and whereabouts if users are unable to respond to calls or text messages. Voice activated dialing in the Nokia 6020 ensures fast access to important contacts.
With EDGE connectivity the Nokia 6020 offers faster access to information, including emails or news clips. The integrated XHTML browser is optimized for color pictures and video clips on the display which supports up to 65,536 colors. Consumers can customize the Nokia 6020 with favorite wallpapers and wake-up graphics or assign individual polyphonic ringtones to different caller groups. Java technology enables further customization with downloadable applications such as travel guides and games.
In a classic design, available in the color variants graphite grey and silver grey, the Nokia 6020 offers up to 3 hours of talk time and up to 14 days of standby time.
